10 Best Picture Nominations

Okay, so as the story goes the Academy is expanding the field of Best Picture nominees, from five slots to TEN.

The first half of this moviegoing year is days from being over, and I can't even count 5 that should be considered for such a distinction.

AMPAS, what you ladies and gentlemen have done is still admirable, but you're a year too late. The Dark Knight (along with Wall-E) has been permanently snubbed. Sure it got eight nominations (and two Oscars, one for Heath Ledger) but the one nom that counted was given to an arguably inferior film. Which one, I'll let you readers determine.

At any rate, AMPAS finally corrected a slight, but which films will benefit? An arguably more important question is, which films should?
